This package takes you on a four-day expedition on the great Péribonka River that will showcase the potential of this section of the river that is still completely wild. You'll descend and explore its beaches and meanders by sea kayak. This river has one of the most beautiful walls in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region. What's more, during your stay you'll be introduced to paddling techniques and learn a number of sea kayaking safety techniques. Your guide will help you discover some magnificent and historic places, as well as helping you relax on this superb river.

Departure: Péribonka IV dam, 100km north of Lac Saint-Jean
Duration: 4 days - 3 nights

COURSE OF THE TRIP

DAY 1 

- Meeting point in Alma: 08:00 for departure to the boat launch
- Arrival at 10:30 am at the Péribonka IV dam
- Safety instructions and introduction to paddling techniques
- 12:00: Lunch on the riverbank 
- Arrival at the Lac du Bouleau jetty and visit to the waterfall
- Preparation of supper, fire and bedtime
- Distance covered: between 20km and 25km

DAY 2

- Breakfast
-09:00: Departure by sea kayal
- Visit the channels and bays, possibility of seeing moose 
- Around 11.00am: Start of the palisades (400m rock faces)
- 12:00: Lunch on the edge of the palisades 
- Arrival at the Six Miles camp (former logging camp)
- Preparation of supper, fire, entertainment and bedtime
- Distance covered: between 20km and 25km

DAY 3

- Breakfast
- 09:00: Departure by sea kayak 
- Visit to the oldest recorded joune birch in Quebec
- 12:00: Lunch on a sandy beach
- Arrival at Baie des Gardes
- Preparation of supper, fire, entertainment and bedtime
- Distance covered: between 15km and 25km

DAY 4

- Hike to discover an old logging road 
-09:00: Departure by sea kayak
- 12:00: Lunch on the riverbank
- 14h00 : Arrival at the call point of Lake Tchitogama
-15:00: Return by vehicle to Alma 
- Distance covered: between 15km and 20km
